A subdomain is part of a web address which is under the main domain name, for example name.example.com. Actually, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain because the fully qualified domain name is just "example.com". Every subdomain could have its own web site and records and can even be hosted using a different provider if you need to use some feature that isn't provided by your current service provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a business site along with an online store under a subdomain where clients can purchase your products. In addition, you can have a forum where they can discuss the products and by using subdomains instead of subfolders you'll avoid any risk of all sites going down when you perform maintenance, or update one of the site scripts. Keeping your sites separated is less risky in case there is a script security breach.

Subdomains in Cloud Hosting

Our cloud hosting plans will allow you to set up many subdomains for any domain hosted within your account without any problem. As long as the main domain address is added, it will take 2 clicks to set up a subdomain and pick what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and administration. By right-clicking on any of them and by using quick access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you acquire a semi-dedicated server plan, you are going to be able to create as many subdomains as you want because this feature is unlimited. Considering that the website hosting packages are rather powerful, we have decided not to put any limit on the number of subdomains. Our sophisticated Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to create a new subdomain with no more than a few mouse clicks, to pick which folder it is going to access inside the account, to activate FrontPage Extensions for it, to set up custom error pages, to set a shared or a dedicated IP address if you have one, and much more. To make it easier for you, all subdomains are going to be listed under their root domain, so you can very easily see and manage them. With quick access links, you'll also be able to open the website files for any one of the subdomains that you have or check out its DNS records.
